The KALS Program is a secondary engagement stream at East Kimberley College with the purpose of re-engaging students in their education. The program targets key learning areas of Literacy and Numeracy, as well as developing crucial life skills and preparing our students for the workforce. In partnership with external organisations and agencies we work hard to provide our students a diverse and exciting program that not only enhances attendance but allows lifelong learning, fostering values and attitudes that will help our students excel in senior years and in their journey beyond school.
The program has 5 key target areas which we believe allows us to structure our teaching to best meet the needs of our students and the community.
To Support the focus areas of KALS, students are exposed to several local organisations including Warringari Aboriginal Art, Mirima Dawang Woorlab-gerring Language and Culture Centre, local police, Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service, the Clontarf Foundation and many local businesses.
