2026 Primary In-Term Swimming Program

Our In-Term Swimming Program runs in Term 4 for students in Pre-primary to Year 6. Lessons are at the Kununurra Leisure Centre, every weekday for 2 weeks. There's no cost to families.

What to pack each day

  • Bathers (sun-safe swimwear is best)
  • Towel
  • Goggles, if your child uses them
  • Plastic or waterproof bag for wet things
  • School uniform to change back into
  • Enclosed shoes and a hat
  • Water bottle, filled with fresh water

Please put sunscreen on your child before school. Label everything with your child's name, including bags, shoes and hats.

Getting to the Leisure Centre

Year 2 to Year 6 students walk to and from the Kununurra Leisure Centre with our staff. It's warm, so enclosed shoes, a hat and a full water bottle help keep them safe and comfortable.

For Pre-primary and Year 1, we're hoping to use a bus. This depends on a bus driver being available. If there's no bus, students will walk with our staff.

Changing and supervision

Students change into their bathers at school before they leave. They change back into uniform when they return. Our staff supervise them the whole time, from changing to travel to swimming.

Enrolment forms

If you haven't sent back your child's In-Term Swimming Enrolment Form yet, please return it as soon as you can. It helps us plan swimming groups and keep everyone safe. Collect a form from the front office or download here.

Taking part

Swimming is part of the school day, so all students join in every session. If your child has a medical reason not to swim, please call the front office on 9168 4400.
