Contributions and Charges

Contributions and Charges

At East Kimberley College we are committed to delivering the best possible learning opportunities to our students. In addition to educational curriculum offerings, our School Council enriches College programs by providing many extras for all students, often at no cost to families.

Guidelines have continued to be enforced regarding the Voluntary Contributions and Charges schools are authorised to charge families. The fee structure for 2024 has been devised in accordance with these guidelines to support the College’s programs effectively.

Please see the 2024 Contributions and Charges booklet for our 2024 structure.

We ask that all parents and carers make arrangements to pay these fees as soon as possible.

KINDERGARTEN TO YEAR 10 FEE STRUCTURE

For students in Years K-10, Voluntary Contributions are set at a maximum of $60 for Primary and $235 for Secondary students.

Payment enables the College to assist with a variety of services and facilities which support our educational programs for your child, such as:

  • program co-ordination
  • enrichment of the basic curriculum by providing resources that add value to your child’s learning experience
  • College contributions to provide text books instead of students having to provide their own
  • purchasing of reading and library materials
  • curriculum resources
  • ICT (Information and communication technologies)

Declining payment of Voluntary Contributions places a large burden on the College community. The continuing partnership between schools and parents is vital to ensuring that all students receive a level of education sufficient to carry them forward in today’s society.

Compulsory charges for Years 7 to 10 encompass high-cost items and enrichment materials integral to specific courses. These may include ingredients for Home Economics cooking classes, transportation, photographic equipment and supplies, art materials, timber, metals, and consumable tools, external instructors, sporting equipment, etc. If your child has chosen an option with an associated cost, this cost is compulsory.

YEARS 11 AND 12 FEE STRUCTURE

For Years 11 and 12, course fees and charges are compulsory, varying depending on the chosen course. Some specialised courses might incur additional costs related to texts, subject specific resources, excursions, certificates, and work placements.

SPECIALIST PROGRAMS

Specialist Programs like KALS (Kimberley Academics Life Skills) are unique to East Kimberley College, and charges for these programs are obligatory, with payments expected before program commencement, as outlined in the provided contract.

PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR FAMILIES

Understanding the financial challenges some families might face, we offer flexible payment options such as part payments and credit card debits. We encourage open communication to discuss available payment options rather than disregarding reminders.

The Secondary Assistance Scheme is available to parents/guardians or independent secondary students who hold eligible concession cards. Eligible parents/guardians and independent students can receive a $235.00 education allowance per student. CLICK HERE to see if you’re eligible for this assistance. Parents of students in receipt of ABSTUDY through Centrelink are only eligible for the ABSTUDY Supplement Allowance.

CENTREPAY

The Centrepay System is offered free of charge to customers who receive regular payments from Centrelink. We can quickly and easily set up your Centrepay Account at the College to assist in making regular payments over the school year.  It is free for Centrelink Customers and is the easiest way to pay by arranging regular deductions from your Centrelink payments.
